535 Bertolini 3/4

Late 19th or early 20th Century Mirecourt violin, 3/4 size, labelled Nicholas Bertholini etc. Spruce top of tight grain, two piece back with narrow flame. Attractive, deep red varnish. A good quality workshop instrument made with nice woods and in very good order. As with most of these Mirecourt instruments, the sound is very pleasing. It is smooth, clear and focussed, very even across the strings, plenty of projection.
Condition: A few dings and scratches, but no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set up: New rosewood pegs, new soundpost and Aubert bridge, new Tonica strings and Wittner tailpiece.
