537 German
Interesting early to mid-twentieth century violin, probably German, unlabelled. Nice, broad-bellied violin, made with beautiful woods and high quality craftsmanship. Distinctive personality, woody and dark, with plenty of projection and a ringing treble. Will work equally well for classical or trad.
Condition: Remarkably clean for its age. A couple of varnish blemishes, but no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: Original ebony pegs, refitted. New soundpost and Aubert bridge. New Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
