547 Maggini copy
Late nineteeth - early twentieth century Maggini copy, unlabelled, probably German. Nicely made instrument, good woods, the double-purfling neatly inlaid, the scroll having an extra turn, denoting the true Maggini copy. Responsive and easy to play, with a sweet and smooth voice; someone will fall for this lovely old fiddle.
Condition: A few scratches and blemishes to the varnish, but no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: New ebony chin rest and ebony pegs with a pearl eye, new sound post and Aubert bridge, new Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
