558 El Maestro
Early to mid-20th Century French violin, labelled El Maestro, which is one of the brand named used by the famous JTL company in Mirecourt. Gold-brown varnish, not as red as in the photos. It's a good example of a JTL workshop violin, has the warm tone characteristic of its kind. It looks as though it has hardly been used, and would benefit from playing.
Condition: Remarkably good for its age, hardly a mark on it.
Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, barely used. New soundpost, new Aubert bridge, new Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
