575 Paul Beuscher
Mid-20th century French violin, labelled Paul Beuscher, Paris 1954, and L'Artiste. Very well-made instruments with particularly precise edgework and a fine scroll, outlined in black. The sound is bright and clear, quite sweet in the high ranges.
Condition: Practically unmarked; just a little varnish rubbed from the centre of the back. In general very tidy indeed.
Set-up: New rosewood pegs and boxwood chin rest, new soundpost and Aubert bridge, new Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece. Every Wild Goat Fiddle is checked carefully, and fingerboards and top-nuts are adjusted or replaced as necessary.
Price, including a new case and bow: €1000
