Late nineteenth or early twentieth century Bohemian violin, labelled The Maidstone. These violins were among the first widely produced workshop instruments specifically made for students, and it's a testament to how well they were made that there are still a lot of them going strong today. This one is very clean for its age, with relatively little wear. The is warm and rich, sweet on the top string. These make great fiddles for advancing students or for competition playing.
