Late 19th or early 20th century German Strad copy, unlabelled. Made with plain woods, the maple back very lightly flamed and bearing dark spalting marks, the top of broad-grained spruce. What it lacks in looks it makes up for in sound. It projects well and is easy to play, mellow in the lower ranges, sweet at the top. A really nice fiddle for an advancing student.
Condition: Dings and scratches to be expected, no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: A nice set of French rosewood pegs, recycled. New sound post and Aubert bridge, new Wittner tailpiece and Tonica strings.
