Early to mid-twentieth century Mirecourt violin, unlabelled. The maple back is quite plain and the purfling is scratched-on and not inlaid, suggesting that this began life as a student-range instrument. However, like many of these instruments the sound is excellent - smooth, warm and sweet, making it ideal for an advancing student or amateur fiddler.
Condition: A few scratches and a bit of varnish wear, but overall extremely clean. No cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, adjusted. New soundpost and Aubert bridge, new Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece. Every Wild Goat Fiddle is checked carefully, and fingerboards and top-nuts are adjusted or replaced as necessary.
Price, including a new case and bow: €850
