685 German 3/4

German violin, late 19th/early 20th century, unlabelled. This is one of the best three-quarter size violins to have passed through my hands. It's made with beautiful woods and with great care and skill. The narrow flame on the back is vibrant and pronounced, the spruce top close-grained. The sound is amazing for a small violin, big and round and even across the strings. This little fiddle will hold its own in any company, and would be a great investment in the future of a talented young player.
Condition: It has a couple of scratches to the varnish, front and back, but very little else by way of wear and tear. No cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: Original ebony pegs and chin rest. New soundpost and Aubert bridge. New Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
