740 Nicolas Lupot
Early - mid twentieth century French violin, labelled modéle d'aprés Nicolas Lupot luthier etc and a la ville de Crémone ateliers etc. Basic Mirecourt workshop violin, nicely made with good woods and dark red oil varnish. It is warm and responsive and will make a great fiddle for an advancing student.
Condition: Hardly played, but was damaged in transit and arrived with two belly cracks, one up from the right f-hole and one down. I have repaired these and they are internally cleated, stable and barely visible. They are nowhere near the sound post or bass bar, and make no difference to the sound.
Set-up. Original rosewood pegs with gold caps - very smart. Nice bridge made by a French luthier. New Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
Price, including a new case and bow: €600 ON HOLD
