Old Klingenthal violin, made in the latter part of the nineteenth century. Nice woods, tidy workmanship and distinctive dark varnish. The sound is warm and mature, sweet on the E string.
Condition: Very good for its age. Significant scratches, dents and dings, but no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, adjusted. New boxwood chin rest, new soundpost and bridge, new Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece. Every Wild Goat Fiddle is checked carefully, and fingerboards and top-nuts are adjusted or replaced as necessary.
