Mid-twentieth century Japanese Strad Copy, labelled as such. Made with good fine-grained spruce and the unusual Japanese maple which is a characteristic of these instruments. Nice red-gold varnish and very tidy workmanship. The sound is bright and clear, very even across the range.
Condition: Very clean. A few scratches and dings but no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: New ebony pegs, new soundpost and Aubert bridge, new Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece. Every Wild Goat Fiddle is checked carefully, and fingerboards and top-nuts are adjusted or replaced as necessary.
