Early to mid 20th century French violin, half--sized, labelled Dulcis et Fortis. Great little fiddle from the JTL workshops in Mirecourt, made with good woods and an attractive red-gold varnish. These small fiddles are like hens' teeth these days and with good reason. The sound is rich and sweet and strong. A cracking fiddle for a talented youngster.
Condition: A few marks and scratches, but overall in great nick for its age with no cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, new bridge and sound post, new Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings. Every Wild Goat Fiddle is checked carefully, and fingerboards and top-nuts are adjusted or replaced as necessary.
Price, including a new case and bow: €650
