641 German 3/4
Early to mid-twentieth century violin, unlabelled, probably German. This is a really high class small instrument, made with the best of woods and workmanship and having beautifully antiqued oil varnish. The sound reflects the quality of the workmanship - it is warm, clear, powerful, very even across the range. A great little fiddle for a talented player.
Condition: It has a short saddle crack, invisible beneath the chin rest, repaired and internally cleated. Otherwise it is nearly perfect, hardly a mark on it.
Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, new sound post and bridge, new Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
Price, including a new case and bow: ON HOLD
