Early-mid twentieth century French violin, unlabelled. Well-crafted Mirecourt instrument, made with top-rate fine-grained spruce and lightly-flamed maple. The violin has a smooth, sweet, even tone; very responsive and easy to play. Well-suited to either classical or trad. Condition: A couple of dings and scratches but overall remarkably clean for its age. Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, readjusted. New sound post and Aubert bridge, new rosewood chin rest.
