734 Japanese Strad Copy
Mid-twentieth century Japanese Strad Copy, labelled as such. A number of these were made in workshops in Japan at that time, and are distinguished by the unusual pattern of flame on the maple backs. They were well made on the whole, and can sound very good. This one is smooth, sweet, very well-balanced. The fingerboard is not ebony and the purfling is inked on, which accounts for the low price.
Condition: A few marks and dents, but in general very clean. No cracks, repairs or other issues.
Set-up: Original ebony pegs, adjusted. New soundpost and bridge, new Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece. Every Wild Goat Fiddle is checked carefully, and fingerboards and top-nuts are adjusted or replaced as necessary.
Price, including a new case and bow: SOLD
