Early twentieth century French violin, unlabelled. Typical Mirecourt Strad copy, the top of good, fine-grained spruce, the back of lightly-flamed maple. It has inlaid purfling; it's better than the basic models; somewhere mid-range. Powerful voice, very even across its range, another great trad fiddle from the historic workshops of Mirecourt.
Condition: Someone has taken a nibble out of the top of the scroll. Otherwise just light knocks and scratches, nothing worse.
Set-up: Original rosewood pegs, readjusted. New sound post and Aubert bridge. New Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings.
Price, including a new case and bow: SOLD
